For women whose husbands left suddenly from what they thought was a happy marriage

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Next Caribbean Retreat will be held in 2025!

Join me for a very special divorce recovery retreat in Punta Cana this April. This retreat will offer you the best of both worlds. We will not only be doing some important work to help you recover from the abrupt end of your marriage so you can grow stronger and more optimistic about your future, but the retreat is also an opportunity for you to relax - lay down your stress and worries and truly take care of yourself in the company of friends!

No rushing around. Just time to learn, heal, rest, connect and have fun!

The theme of the retreat is letting go and finding peace. The workshops will focus on:

  • Helping you stop obsessing and thinking about him and what happened

  • Providing tools so you can stop worrying about your future

  • Helping you locate a calm, still space inside that will nurture you, no matter what’s going on

  • Getting you energized for the next chapter of your life!

We're going to have an amazing time!

About me

When my husband abruptly left in 2006, I found my life’s mission. I didn’t know it at the time, of course – I was suffering too much. But as time went on, my mission became clear.

My mission is you.

Before that fateful day, I thought I knew my purpose. I’d been a therapist for more than 25 years. I loved my work with couples, families, kids and teens. I felt I was contributing.

My husband’s sudden departure planted a seed. I wanted to help women who had been through what I went through.

So I studied wife abandonment and was surprised to learn that there were other women whose husbands left in exactly the same shocking way. That led to my writing the book, Runaway Husbands, and the creation of this website. And all that led me to you.

I’ve led dozens and dozens of retreats, both in-person and online. Women from my in-person retreats in Arizona, Mexico and Montreal have become lifelong friends who continue to vacation together! I’d be honored to meet you and become a part of your healing journey.

The best gift I could have given myself was the time at the retreat with Vikki and the other amazing women who participated. I don’t feel so alone, afraid or hopeless anymore. So worth attending!

Included in the retreat are four healing workshops with me as well as a beautiful full-day excursion by catamaran to Saona, an island in the Caribbean. We’ll get the chance to relax together, by the pool or beach, in yoga or art classes and at meals. Your connection with the other women will be an important part of the retreat and you will make friendships to last a lifetime!

The Sedona Retreat was a vibrant, productive collection of minds and spirits all working toward healing ourselves and supporting the healing of other retreat participants. The type of work that can only be done in a safe and love based community. Thank you Vikki, and all the other wonderful and inspiring women!
